چکیده
Abstract Study question Does blastocyst-stage embryo transfer in fresh and frozen cycles improve the cumulative live birth rate (cLBR) compared with cleavage-stage IVF/ICSI treatments? Summary answer In good prognosis IVF patients (≥4 available embryos), a policy did not result significant higher cLBR to policy. What is known already A recent Cochrane systematic review meta-analysis concluded that treatments associated rates of pregnancy comparison embryos. However, it unknown whether blastocyst-transfer also improves rate, i.e. derived from frozen-thawed transfers following single oocyte retrieval, IVF/ICSI. design, size, duration this multicenter randomized controlled trial women were randomly allocated (blastocyst group - on day 5 after retrieval followed by vitrification remnant blastocysts 6 local criteria) or (cleavage-stage 3 cryopreservation 4). Randomization was stratified for age (≥36 < 36 years). Participants/materials, setting, methods Women (defined as presenting ≥4 embryos 2 culture), during their first, second, third treatment cycle, included. A randomized clinical trial comparing recombinant hyaluronan/recombinant albumin versus human tubal fluid for cleavage stage embryo transfer in patients with multiple IVF-embryo transfer failure.
BACKGROUND We aimed to examine the efficacy of using an embryo transfer medium enriched with hyaluronan (HA) to improve implantation in a selected group of patients aged <43 years with repeated (>4) implantation failures after IVF-embryo transfer. METHODS About 101 patients, meeting our selection criteria, were randomly allocated to undergo embryo transfer either using our routine embryo tran...
متن کاملI-38: Chromosome Instability in The Cleavage Stage Embryo
Recently, we demonstrated chromosome instability (CIN) in human cleavage stage embryogenesis following in vitro fertilization (IVF). CIN not necessarily undermines normal human development (i.e. when remaining normal diploid blastomeres develop the embryo proper), however it can spark a spectrum of conditions, including loss of conception, genetic disease and genetic variation development. To s...
متن کاملDay 3 embryo transfer versus day 5 blastocyst transfers: A prospective randomized controlled trial
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to show whether transferring day 5 embryos resulted in higher implantation and pregnancy rates than transferring day 3 embryos in Turkish women undergoing an intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycle. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 190 women who had ICSI after retrieval of more than four oocytes on the day of fertilization check were randomly assigned to under...
متن کاملCleavage stage versus blastocyst stage embryo transfer in assisted reproductive technology.
BACKGROUND Advances in cell culture media have led to a shift in in vitro fertilisation (IVF) practice from cleavage stage embryo transfer to blastocyst stage transfer. The rationale for blastocyst transfer is to improve both uterine and embryonic synchronicity and enable self selection of viable embryos, thus resulting in better live birth rates. OBJECTIVES To determine whether blastocyst st...
متن کاملLive birth after fresh versus frozen single blastocyst transfer (Frefro-blastocyst): study protocol for a randomized controlled trial
BACKGROUND Multiple pregnancies are one of the major safety concerns of in vitro fertilization (IVF) due to the increased risk of maternal and neonatal complications. Single embryo transfer is the most effective way to reduce the risk of multiple pregnancies. Selection of the embryo and optimization of the implantation environment are crucial to retain the success rate when the number of transf...
